We have, over 200 Virginians who are Nationally and Internationally known that have made significant musical contributions to the world. These historic contributions should be documented and memorialized for the education and enjoyment of future generations as part of the heritage of Virginia and their social recognition to the world.
Why a Virginia Music Hall of Fame and Museum

Since Virginia’s founding, music has been a central component of Virginia’s history and economy. Over 200 Virginians are nationally and internationally recognized for their significant musical contributions, yet Virginia has yet to establish a Virginia Music Hall of Fame. Memorializing Virginia’s musical contributions in a Hall of Fame and Museum would serve multiple purposes including: preserving our Virginia musicians place in history; educating our youth, general population, and future generations on Virginia’s musical heritage; providing a cultural exchange where people of all ages gather to appreciate music; generating tax revenue for the Commonwealth of Virginia, surrounding Counties and the Cities; and providing a research facility for academic use.

Our mission is to celebrate Virginia’s rich musical contributions to American culture by honoring the artists who have excelled in their craft and driven change across all music genres, both nationally and internationally. We strive to preserve and interpret the history of Virginia’s music, from Colonial times to the present, through collections of instruments, costumes, artifacts, and music sheets. By showcasing these treasures, we explore how Virginia’s music has shaped and influenced not only our state but the nation and the world.
Future Exhibits
At our Hall of Fame, we believe in keeping the experience fresh and dynamic. To ensure each artist receives prime visibility, we plan to host rotating exhibits every 1-2 months. Our forward-thinking approach embraces the next 10-20 years of creativity, integrating interactive technology and innovative spaces that constantly evolve. Visitors can look forward to an ever-changing museum experience that goes beyond the traditional, offering something new and exciting with every visit.
